This week, we discussed the importance of  the creative process when going out to begin a project. To bui ld a solid foundation, we began by watching a TED Talk called The Theory of Creativity by Duncan Wardle. This presentation went into depth on the i mportance of creativity in the modern world and how it will be a core function of succeeding in the present and future.  During his TED Talk, Wardle states,  “... if we’re not curious and if we’re not playful I  believe  that when it comes to the next decade, creativity and in tuition , they’ll be our survival skills. ..” .   This week we have  been working to finalize our decisions on if we want to work with partners for our final project or not.  We did this by doing a pair of exercises, which were  social media and a lost at sea activities.   For the social media activity, I looked at a classmates Instagram account that I was considering working with. I looked at her account and took note of the types of content they posted and how often they do it. This ended up helping me get a better look at the  person I was considering working with and the type of person they are. For the lost at sea activity, I got into a group and we received a list of items and we had to rank them most to least important. This   surprisingly  worked well to show how easy it is to disagree in a group.   This week in class we installed and started looking into the editing programs InDesign and Premier Pro so we could  make a decision  on our final projects. We did the tutorials for b oth programs in class. Personally, doing these tutorials did not have much of an impact on my decision because I have already used both programs several times before. However, it did help me think about which  program would be easier for me to work with and if that should influence my decision.   Premier Pro is  definitely  the  program that I am most familiar with out of the two. I had taken several classes that required the use of premier pro often, so I know my way around the program.  Not only have I used Premier Pro in several classes over the years, but I have also used it on my own personal projects in my free time. Keep in mind I am not in any sense of the word a genius when it comes to Premier Pro, rather that I know my general way around.   ...
